A collective photography exhibition curated by Jamel Shabazz, which explores photography beyond its subject matter, highlighting the “Posivity,” the definite moment when the lens captures and shines on an individual or object, is on view now to July 26, with an opening reception June 22 from 4-7 p.m.
Other highlights of the exhibition is an artist panel discussion, June 28 from 4-5 p.m., moderated by Danny Simmons and Talib Kweli at the art space, Danny Simmons’ Corridor Gallery at 334 Grand Avenue (between Gates & Green) in Williamsurg.
Shabazz is most known for his pioneering and dedicated documentation of New York’s street culture. All artists included in the exhibition Shabazz has encountered, one way or another, through his various photographic endeavors.
