To The Editor:
To the letter writer of, “Not all fun and games,” I am a retired custodial worker, who worked in schools for over 25 years.
First of all, I would like to know if you have a job? And if you do, I am sure it is not one that requires physical labor.
How many times in your life have you run up and down three or four flights of stairs 10 or more times a day, because you are on the first floor and a child gets sick on the third floor so you have to leave what you are doing to go clean up then you get to go right back to what you were doing on the first floor only to be called back up the second floor, or third floor, to clean a mess some child made with soap and water, on the floor which must be taken care of right away, so no one gets hurt.
Then, maybe you go back to finish cleaning what you started, just to be called again to be told that soap or paper towels are needed in one of the bathrooms on the second or third floor one more time.
These things get repeated many times through the course of a day, in between cleaning the lunchroom, the gym, halls and the classrooms before the day is done.
So I say to you, why don’t you try getting a job that takes a little more exertion then writing a letter to complain about hard working men.
