The Midwood Development Corporation (MDC) and the Avenue J Board of Trade announced the winners of its 12th Annual Students Art Show.
First prize went to Rina Gershman, PS 255, 1866 East 17th Street; second prize went to Rechelle Abalos, Midwood Catholic Academy, 1340 East 29th Street; and third prize went Monique Zmijewski, PS 199, 1100 Elm Avenue.
The Art Show was organized by MDC’s Midwood Youth Council in order to promote Midwood and celebrate its talented youth. This year’s event was judged by acclaimed artist Julian Akins and Graphic Designer Meti Ibnra Heru.
Park Avenue Bank, 1201 Avenue J, sponsored a reception and contributed savings bonds to the winners. Avenue J’s Apple Bank and Berkshire Bank co-sponsored the event.
