Kiwanian celebrates milestone birthday by recognizing achievements of others

Embracing the spirit of giving for which the organization he belongs to is internationally recognized, Kiwanis International Club of Mount Olive, New Jersey’s Distinguished Lieutenant Governor Cedric L. Roach wanted to give back to his community.

To celebrate the Flatbush resident’s 60th trip around the sun, Roach — a sales associate at Century 21 and former resident of the Garden State, who still attends his group’s Kiwanis meetings in the Township of Mount Olive — decided it is better to give than to receive, so he commemorated his milestone by honoring co-workers at Century 21 Achiever’s Realty, 1481 Flatbush Avenue in the Flatbush section of Brooklyn.

Among the citations Roach bequeathed to fellow employees and friends were the “Human and Spiritual Awards,” to Everton Welch, Marcia Nelson, Maxeen Cassanova, and Yinka Fagbamigbe; the “Academic Excellence Certificate Award,” to Carlton Sadio, for returning to school and acquiring his Real Estate license; the “Distinguished Citizen of the Year Award,” to Edmund Sadio; “Perfect Attendance Awards,” to Edmund Sadio and David Hanniford; and Kiwanis International Awards, to numerous recipients.

Stated Roach: “This is just a small token of appreciation for all their hard work in the community and their dedication to the people around them.”

Kiwanis International is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time.
