Lovebirds cleared for paradise getaway

Their wedding bells may be more than a year away, but lucky Queens lovebirds JoAnn Porcello and Vincent Burner already have the icing on their cake – an all−expenses−paid Caribbean honeymoon, courtesy of this newspaper and the company which “knows why you fly,” American Airlines.

The Ozone Park couple won two round−trip tickets, plus a seven−day, all expenses paid luxury vacation at the exclusive Sunswept Resorts’ Bodyholiday at LeSPORT in St. Lucia, simply by filling out an entry form, which JoAnn, a 29−year−old pharmacy technician, stumbled upon in her favorite local newspaper, operated by TimesLedger and owned by Community Newspaper Group (CNG), a New York City media outlet serving Queens, Brooklyn and the Bronx.

“We’re both very excited, most people don’t have this happen to them,” exclaimed the happy fiancÉe, adding she was bowled over when she received a phone call at work, informing her of the good news.

“Suddenly, it just hit me, and I became nervous, my hands were shaking, it was a good feeling,” she said, noting, “We don’t have to worry about this now because the honeymoon is a big expense.”

An extra source of excitement for the altar−bound sweethearts, who plan to tie the knot next fall, is that neither of them has been overseas before.

JoAnn and Vincent, 35, a supervisor for a cleaning company, claimed their prize at CNG’s head office, One MetroTech Center North, where they were congratulated by Clifford Luster, publisher of Brooklyn’s Courier−Life Publications, and American Airlines Corporate Communications’ executive Ned Raynolds.
