Nabe toasts Manhattan Beach’s high−stepping beauty queen

Dazzling dancing grandmas, distinguished guest dignitaries and a huge iced cake capped the celebration when “Miss Brooklyn” Keelie Sheridan made her debut in Sheepshead Bay.

The 22−year−old world Irish step dancing champion from Manhattan Beach was officially welcomed by the community she now represents during a fete at the New York Steakhouse, 2007 Emmons Avenue, also attended by “Miss Teen Brooklyn” Melanie Gowrie and emceed by Nature Pure Laboratories President Victoria Markman.

Sheridan received proclamations from Councilmember Mike Nelson and Assemblymember Alec Brook−Krasny and, later, wowed the crowd by changing into a beaded cocktail dress and performing a step dance.

The dancing continued with lively presentations by the Little Russian Ballet and a group of spry grandmothers from the former Soviet Union, who performed a folk medley.
