Patchwork of caring counts for a lot

The Marine Park Intermediate School 278’s Builders Club continues to find fun and unique ways to help their community.

Builders Club members build character, develop their personal values as they take on new responsibilities, and are provided with an opportunity to participate in the activity of serving others through teamwork, leadership, and experiencing the excitement of making a difference.

The Builders Club’s latest project was creating a quilt for someone less fortunate. The colorful patchwork quilt took approximately four meetings to assemble and involved the creative talents of all of the members under the supervision of Faculty Advisor Regina Kieran.

The completed quilt will be donated to the Park Slope Women’s Shelter. The club’s next adventure is raising money to purchase a goat for Heifer International as well as a year−end food drive to benefit City Harvest.
