Brooklyn’s Finest and Bravest were delivered a tall salute when the Be Proud Foundation presented an appreciation luncheon in Sheepshead Bay to hail “heroes from our local Police and Fire departments.”
The fourth annual repast, held at New York Steak House, 2007 Emmons Avenue, served to honor cops from the 61st Precinct, 2575 Coney Island Avenue, and firemen from Engine 46/Ladder 169, 2732 East 11th Street, with words of gratitude, certificates of appreciation and gifts.
It was the first time that local Russian-speaking police officers were honored by the Brighton Beach-based non-profit organization, which strives to unite the Russian-speaking community in the United States by preserving its culture, heritage and family values, in addition to improving “mutual understanding and respect” with other ethnic communities.
