Ralph Fabrizio School dedicated

Public School 170 is now also called ‘The Ralph A. Fabrizio School.’

Students, faculty and parents joined local officials for a ribbon−cutting dedicating the Bay Ridge school, 7109 6th Avenue, in memory of the retired School District 20 superintendent, who died in August 2008 at the age of 77.

Borough President Marty Markowitz presented a proclamation to the Fabrizio family during the tribute, which also featured a student recital.

Fabrizio served as superintendent from 1987 through 1994, and credited his tenure with helping improve math and reading scores in his district, providing more textbooks in schools and more computers in the classroom as the digital age took hold.
