Repo raid

A taxi driver was held up and robbed of his wallet and wheels when he came across two renegade repo men.

The 23-year-old victim told police that he knew he was driving around in a 2005 Lincoln Towncar that had been rented from Safari Express and that the rental agreement had expired.

He must have been expecting that someone would come along to repossess the car, but he didn’t expect what happened on the afternoon of December 3.

He said that he was sitting in the car on 14th Street near Seventh Avenue at 1:30 p.m. when two men approached him.

“Get out of the car, don’t make me hurt you,” one of the men threatened as they pulled him from the cabin.

The two men then frisked the cabbie, taking his wallet, credit cards and $50.

After being alerted, responding officers arrested one of the two men.

Police said that Abdel Rosa, 28, was taken into custody on December 5 and was charged with robbery. His alleged partner was still at large as this paper went to press.
