Dogs and costumes and shrubbery — oh, my!

Carroll Gardens: A developer’s plan to build apartments on a gritty block in the Columbia Street Waterfront District has turned into a near parody of the old saga of builders and their displaced tenants. This time, the displaced tenants are not the needy, the sick or the homeless, but pampered cats and dogs, fancy costumes, and lush foliage. Comment

Hamilton Av bridge work all summer

Carroll Gardens: Construction on the Hamilton Avenue Bridge, a key Gowanus Canal span that carries traffic to and from the Battery Tunnel, has so far caused few traffic problems since beginning on June 30, even though half of the bridge’s eight driving lanes are closed. Comment
