Zenkichi

Hidden behind wooden planks lies Zenkichi, a modern, Tokyo-style eatery named after owner Motoko Watanabe’s great grandfather. Opened in 2006, Watanabe refers to the restaurant, which she co-owns with her husband, as a “Japanese brasserie.” Chefs Mikio Sano and Tetsuya Akikawa offer “saikyo” miso black cod with pearl onions and shiitake mushrooms, as well as carpaccio of tuna with a “yuzu” (citrus fruit) pepper sauce. Open for dinner Tuesday through Sunday. Closed Mondays.
