A man pried his way into a home at 17th Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenue, lifted a set of car keys, and drove away with the homeowner’s car on Aug. 21.

Cops said the man entered the home between 12:10 am and 8:30 am and snatched the keys, and promptly drove away in a 2003 Nissan Suburban. But his joyride was short lived. Investigators caught up with the perp at his apartment on Columbia Street between Bush Street and Centre Mall, and arrested him. At the scene, cops recovered a bag containing what cops believe to be heroin, and a crack pipe. Officer Oscar Morales is credited with the arrest.
