Two teens are facing seven years in prison for turning the Dyker Beach Golf Course into a late-night demolition derby.

Officials said that on April 4, Jose Hernandez and Kevin Melendez, both 16, and several others snuck onto the green by 86th Street near Seventh Avenue sometime after closing at 6 pm. They then clipped the locks to a pen of golf carts and ripped up the links, officials said.

Cops caught up with them just before 2 am the next morning as they passed by the golf course and noted that the carts were misplaced.

“This had happened before, so we make it a point to check the golf course each night,” said one police source.

Hernandez and Melendez were caught trying to escape from the golf course. Their free-wheeling friends are still at large.

Cops estimated that the teens caused $50,000 worth of damage to the golf course, golf carts and other equipment.

Both are facing charges of burglary, criminal mischief and grand larceny.
