Move over Carrie and Clay, there are some golden kids on the block and they’re stealing your thunder – at least in Brooklyn.
Ebullient elders at Palm Beach Assisted Living, 2900 Bragg Street, put a sparkling new twist on the phrase, ‘golden oldies’ when they fine-tuned their vocal chords and took to the stage for a rainbow of show-stopping gems during a song-fest, modeled after the hit television show “American Idol.”
Six finalists shared the spotlight, crooning a medley of crowd-pleasing tunes, and vying for bragging rights and cash prizes.
Jerry Abramowitz was the first place winner. Ed Bondy and June Goldberg were the runners-up.
The contest gave the seniors “something to look forward to,” said Admission’s Director Diana Corda.
“It really brightened up their day,” she added.
