Congrats on the promotion!

John Sprague, the commanding officer of the 62nd Precinct in Bensonhurst, just learned that his title has been upgraded from captain to deputy inspector.

“I got promoted,” he modestly told community residents at last week’s meeting of Community Board 11 at Holy Family Home on 84th Street.

Sprague thanked the police officers in his precinct for helping him earn the promotion.

“I like to think it’s a reflection of the work, the collective work, we do as a department,” he said.

He also acknowledged neighborhood residents who have demanded top-notch work from their local police officers.

“You keep us on our toes and I hope we provide the best for you,” he said.
