Parishioners basked in the glow of their new spiritual symbol when St. Anselm’s Church celebrated the installation of a crucifix outside the Bay Ridge house of worship.
The Rev. Michael Gelfand led a benediction in honor of the carved depiction of Jesus Christ on a cross, prominently erected in the flower and hedgerow trimmed courtyard, 83rd Street and 4th Avenue.
The handsome crucifix was made with lumber supplied by Lou Esposito of Brooklyn Lumber, with help from Vinny Mancino, Lito and Florinda Rongiullo and Bjanie Bleinbach.
The school choir provided a choral serenade.
