Fun and festivity echoed throughout the PS 811K’s school yard as students enrolled in the Connie Leakas School kicked off their first annual carnival.

Students enrolled in the school at 2525 Haring Street in Sheepshead Bay had first-row seats to the fun activities that included entertainment, food, face painting, photo booths, games, contests. There was also an assortment of delicious goodies including Judy’s Heavenly Coconut Cake, Gloria’s Popping Ginger Snaps, Thereesa’s Smacking Smoothies, which were all made with love by school staffers.

PS 811K serves children age 14 to 21 with special needs.

Several vendors, including Home Depot, generously donated equipment and supplies to make the carnival one for the record books, organizers said.
