The sound of music echoed through the trees at Paerdegat Park, Foster Avenue near Albany Avenue last week as Community Board 17 held its Annual Summer Variety Concert.

Visitors hearts were truly lifted by the eclectic group of voices that took the stage.

Organizers from Community Board 17 Parks Committee said they wanted to make sure that there was a wide cross-section of jazz, hip-hop, steel-drum and gospel musical styles that would lure visitors to Paerdegat Park.

A host of talented performers graced the stage during the fun-filled day, including the Akoyaw African Drummers, the Revelation Dance Theatre, Marva Mortley & Erica DaCosta, the Mildred Forde Danvers and singers from New Life Tabernacle Church.
