Call it a Flatlands frolic.

Hearty barbecues and neighborhood unity were on the seasonal calendar as neighbors soaked in summer fun with a block party on East 49th Street between Avenues L and M recently.

Clear blue skies provided a perfect landscape for a day of celebration and friendship as grown-ups unwound by chatting with friends and loved ones as well as cooking up a cornucopia of grilled delights.

Area kids spent the day participating in games of hoops and bicycle rides across the car-free block.
