Talk about neighbors helping neighbors!

The DUMBO Rebuild Fund-raiser and Auction — an event organized and hosted solely by neighborhood merchants to help businesses wrecked by Hurricane Sandy — will be held tonight at Galapagos Art Space on Main Street with unique Brooklyn prizes to bid on.

After all, where else will you be able to get a chance to have Borough President Markowitz record the outgoing voicemail greeting on your cellphone?

Organizers say that more than 40 uniquely Brooklyn prizes will be available for bid at the event. There will also be a number of door prizes — including a temporary tattoo and a tote bag.

DUMBO Rebuild Fund-raiser and Auction at Galapagos Art Space [16 Main St. at Water Street in DUMBO, (718) 222–8500)] Nov. 14 at 6 pm. Tickets range between $25 and $100. Visit rebuild-dumbo.eventbrite.com for more.
