Call him a tree thugger!

A young man attacked a pair of potted pines outside a Fifth Avenue eatery in the early hours of May 21.

Security tapes show the timber attacker walking outside the Schnitzel Haus between 73rd and 74th streets at 3:52 am. Without any apparent provocation from the shrubs, the miscreant stuck his arm and hit one conifer, then grabbed the other and attempted to uproot it from its pot.

The establishment suspects the offender was acting under the influence.

“You see him swerving up the block, so you assume he was on something,” said co-owner Amber Urban.

Urban said both arbors survived the assault, and a landscaper restored the yanked shrub’s roots to the soil.
