Police arrested a Sunset Park man on attempted murder and other charges on June 24, after he allegedly cut off his wife’s right arm and two fingers from her left hand on 55th Street in Sunset Park three days earlier.

Officers found the victim at the scene near Fifth Avenue just after 12 pm on June 21 after responding to a 911 call. Emergency medical personnel transported the woman to Bellevue Hospital in critical but stable condition.

The victim’s husband has been charged attempted murder, two counts of assault, and criminal possession of a weapon.
