Cops are reportedly questioning a suspect in an attempted rape in Sunset Park on Monday night — and will possibly link him to one or more of the 13 attacks by the South Slope Sex Fiend since March.

The man is being questioned about the groping of an 18-year-old woman near 39th Street and Fourth Avenue, our sister publication, the New York Post reported on Tuesday night.

According to the Post, the man in question fits the description of the serial fiend: He is short, Hispanic and in his 20s.

But then again, who knows — after all, police have released five sketches of the possible assailant, who tends to sneak up from behind women and grope them before running off when they scream.

Of the 13 known attacks, one resulted in a rape.

Cops apprehended the individual around 9 pm at 42nd Street and Fifth Avenue after he matched the description of the attacker and video surveillance footage, the Post reported.

A police spokesman declined to give any details, saying, “I don’t care what the Post says — a man is being questioned and that’s it.”

At this point can we erect a fence around the area like Sea Gate? The animals that pour in from Sunset Park and the east side of Prospect Park come into our neighborhood with only the intention to take advantage of our wealth and lack of law enforcement.
