78th Precinct

Park Slope

For $35

A violent jerk beat up a man on Second Street on June 10 — then stole his cash while he was down.

The 19-year-old victim told cops he was walking near Seventh Avenue at 12:30 am when a man ran up and punched him. He fell to the sidewalk and the brute kicked him. He then reached into the victim’s pockets, grabbed $35, and ran away.

Got clubbed

A crook swiped some fancy sporting goods from a car on Sixth Street on June 3.

The victim told cops she parked her gray 2012 Infiniti near Eighth Avenue at 11 am, then returned the next day at 2 pm. That was enough time for the crook to break into the trunk and snatch a bag of golf clubs, leaving no sign of broken glass.

Bar rat

Someone snatched a purse — containing an iPad and driver’s license — from a bar-goer on Ninth Street on June 6.

The 30-year-old victim told cops she set her bag in a booth at Dram Shop — near Sixth Avenue — at 1 pm, then left to smoke a cigarette.

She came back half an hour later and discovered it gone — along with her iPad and Colorado state driver’s license.

Subway swipe

A quick-moving thief swiped a straphanger’s purse on Flatbush Avenue on June 10.

The 35-year-old victim told cops she was riding a Manhattan-bound 3 train as it pulled into the Grand Army Plaza stop at 1:45 pm when a man snatched her small black purse and ran off the train before doors closed.

Mac gone

Someone stole a computer from an apartment on Third Street on June 6.

The 52-year-old victim told cops he left his home near Seventh Avenue at 8 am, then returned around 7:30 pm. That’s when he discovered that his silver Mac computer was gone.

His ex-wife — who has access to the building — later told cops that she let an electrician into the building to do work on the basement.

Reasonable discourse

slopeslope from slope says:
Even though the BP generally avoids any mention of race, the vast majority of muggings in PS, like the two listed above, are committed by black males of the ghetto variety. People in Park Slope need to be aware that these "jerks" come to the area to hunt for prey, so watch out.

as a black female of the ghetto variety - I agree. Watch out Park Slopers.
