Police: Woman pays $20 to avoid rape

A man threatened to rape a woman in Williamsburg last week then walked away after she paid him $20.

Police say the man grabbed thewoman near Leonard Street and Bayard Street last Saturday at around 11:30 Saturday night the perv approached the victim and grabbed her by the neck and began to fondle her. After pm and told her of his intentions. She then offered to pay him $20 in exchange for her safety.

The creep took the victim up on her offer, walking with her to an ATM, where she withdrew the $20 and handed it to him before he ran off.

The money exchange was caught on video.

The woman refused any medical attention when the authorities arrived.

WOW! I think this lady might have started an unfortunate trend. Im not saying what he did was right but dang, only $20? He shouldve at least said 100. But oh well, $20 can get him a few bags of k2 & some 211 so i guess he was satisfied.

I bet if they caught this guy, i dont even think he would get any jail time. Yes, h grabbed her & said he was gonna have his way with her but it was never done & plus they totally de-escalated the situation by agreeing to a $20 deal. Sorry to say this but if you wanna broke off, go to northwest brooklyn. Thats where the money is.

If you wanna get broke off i meant. And to add to my point, all of this popularity that w'burg & other sections of bk is getting is only gonna make it more enticing for robbers & rapists. So everytime you see more lux housing, coffee shops & such being built, just think of all of the thieves that are setting their sights. Dont say i didnt warn yall.
