Holy s---! This was the most beautiful civic meeting ever!
National treasure: St. Ann’s is a National Historic Landmark.
Vital organ: The church’s Peabody Memorial Organ has 4,718 pipes and is eecognized by the Organ Historical Society as an Historic Instrument of Special Merit.
High spirts: At the time it was built, the church stood on the highest point in Brooklyn Heights.
No pane, no gain: The church’s 55 glass windows, designed by William Jay Bolton, are considered some of the finest early-19th century stained glass in America.
We sent our photographer to cover a meeting about Brooklyn Bridge Park at St. Ann and the Holy Trinity Church on Montague Street — and all the best photos were of the church itself!
But who could complain when they look this great? So enjoy this slideshow of the stunning 169-year-old Gothic Revival holy house, and if you want to read about the meeting, we have stories here and here.
