Police arrested a man who allegedly stole a woman’s phone as he helped her load groceries into her car on Fifth Avenue on Oct. 20.
The victim told cops she was putting her food into her vehicle near Baltic Street at 6 pm while her phone was in her bag, which was hanging off a stroller. She dropped her cell and the suspect allegedly asked if she needed help, pushing her to accept his assistance, a report said.
She gave in and left the stroller unattended as he helped her and then allegedly pocketed her phone, according to authorities.
Cops cuffed two men who allegedly broke into a First Street apartment on Oct. 24.
The suspects entered the residence near Fifth Avenue around 8:35 pm by breaking the apartment’s rear window, a report said.
Authorities collared a man who they say stole a bicycle from a Prospect Park West hallway on Oct. 24.

The suspect rear-ended the back of a vehicle while he was driving with a .175 blood alcohol content — over the legal limit of .08 percent, a report said. When he exited the car, he was allegedly swaying back and forth and had bloodshot eyes, cops said.
