It is a trans-plant!
The city’s attempts to use huge tree-filled planters to block drivers from parking illegally on Jay Street have already been stumped, as some scofflaw managed to move them into a bus lane just days later.
The Department of Transportation placed the pots in the striped area between the coach and bike lanes on Friday, but some sneak had toppled the topiary by Monday morning, somehow moving it into the red bus zone, and motorists went back to storing their vehicles in the forbidden area.
Whoever did it was packing some serious flower power — the city finally sent workers to move the errant greenery back to its rightful place on Wednesday, and it took two burly men to move each pot.
One worker tried to shuffle the shrub using a package cart, but was eventually forced to call in reinforcements — and they still weren’t able to complete the job, as an illegally parked car was in the way.
Once the bus lane was planter-free, a police officer drove up and parked there, blocking it once again.
