Cops are hunting for a man who raped a 17-year-old girl in a park on Thursday.

The green space is located somewhere in the 78th Precinct, which includes Prospect Park, Park Slope, Prospect Heights, and parts of Gowanus.

The victim, who resides in East New York, told police that an unknown man approached her at 1 am, raped her, and then fled.

The girl, who is autistic according to a New York Post report, was unable to identify the park she was attacked in because she was traumatized by the incident, according to authorities.

The victim sought treatment at Methodist Hospital after the rape, according to the Post.

An initial suspect was cleared on Saturday, the Post reported, and the investigation is ongoing, police said.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577–8477. The public can also submit tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website at or by texting tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then entering TIP577. All tips are strictly confidential.

Reach reporter Colin Mixson at or by calling (718) 260-4505.
