Two motorists successively plowed into a senior crossing a Bensonhurst street steps from his home before dawn on Friday, killing him.
John Ramondino, 73, was attempting to diagonally cross 65th Street at the intersection of W. Sixth Street while heading towards W. Fifth Street outside of a crosswalk around 5:50 am, when a 64-year-old man behind the wheel of a Dodge Dakota traveling on 65th Street toward W. Fifth Street slammed into him while he was in the middle of the intersection, cops said.
And moments later, a 51-year-old guy driving a Chevy Astrovan on 65th Street towards Bay Parkway struck Ramondino, according to police, who said paramedics pronounced the W. Sixth Street resident dead at the scene.
An initial report did not reveal whether the motorists had green, yellow, or red lights at the time of each crash, officials said.
Both drivers remained on site following the back-to-back collisions, but cops did not immediately arrest or charge either motorist, according to authorities, who said their investigation is ongoing.
