This salvage shop is unloading everything — including the kitchen sink!

Workers at a Gowanus store hawking recycled fixtures and appliances recovered from storm-damaged homes are slashing prices for a May 5 sale where locals can snag good-as-new dishwashers and refrigerators for less than $50.

Members of do-good group Rebuilding Together, which helps rehabilitate properties on the brink of disrepair, opened the Salvage Store at 126 10th St. last June, and filled its shelves with items saved from Staten Island homes devastated by superstorm Sandy that the state purchased as part of its program to buy up properties susceptible to future flooding.

And now they’re offering the merchandise — which at press time included eight dishwashers, three refrigerators, four microwaves, five stoves, seven toilets, and five pedestal sinks, along with a bevy of cabinets, dressers, and other wood furniture — at 75–85 percent below its already low asking price, which is usually half off market value, in order to make room for more furnishings coming in through a new program with local developers, according to Rebuilding Together rep Kimberly George.

Eager bargain hunters can browse and reserve many of the offerings ahead of time on the organization’s website, but online buyers still must pay for and pick up their purchases at the store on Saturday in order to get the discount.

All sales come with a six-month guarantee, within which the do-gooders will either replace or refund any appliances that conk out, George said.

And if the reduced prices aren’t enticing enough, the store’s staff is cooking up free baked goods for customers of its fire sale, according to a flier for the event.

Discount sale at Rebuilding Together’s Salvage Store [126 10th St. between Second and Third avenues in Gowanus, (718) 488–8840, rebuildingtogethernyc.org] on May 5. 9 am–3 pm.
