Cyclones 1
Renegades 9
Tuesday, Aug. 3 at Hudson Valley
The Cyclones ran into a hot pitcher who cooled their league-leading bats with a five-inning two-hit performance.
Worse, Darrell Ceciliani — who is trying to become the first Cyclone to hit .400 — went 0-for-4, dropping his league-leading average to .379.
Cyclone starter Mitchell Houck earned — no, really — his first loss of the season by giving up four runs in four innings.
The only good news? The Cyclones remained in first place by six-and-a-half games.
The next Cyclones home game is tonight at 7 pm against the Batavia Muckdogs at MCU Park [1904 Surf Ave. at W. 19th Street in Coney Island, (718) 449-8497]. For info, visit www.brooklyncyclones.com.
