Dropped and robbed
A thug tackled a 16-year-old girl to the ground on July 3 during a brawl over a cellphone.
The victim told police that she was at Seventh Avenue and 70th Street just after 11 pm when the thief tried to grab the phone out of her hand.
After a brief struggle, the thief knocked the young woman to the ground, leaving her with a scraped-up left hand as he ran off with her $450 phone, police said.
Wallet snatch
Someone at PS 176 took a parting gift before being dismissed for the summer — an educator’s wallet.
The 42-year-old victim told police that she left her purse inside her office at the Bay Ridge Avenue school between 12th and 13th avenues at 1:30 pm.
She picked up her bag about two hours later, only to find that someone had snaked his hand inside and removed her wallet and credit cards.
No escape
A thief crawled into a woman’s 73rd Street apartment on June 27, taking a laptop computer and an assortment of jewelry.
The woman said the burglar got into her home between Fort Hamilton Parkway and 10th Avenue sometime after 10 am. He forced open a closed, but unlocked, window leading to a fire escape to get inside, police said.
97th St. steal
A crook forced his way inside a 97th Street home on June 28, taking $2,000 and a laptop computer.
Police said the thief broke the screen to the balcony door of the property, located between Marine Avenue and Shore Road, before entering sometime after 9:30 pm.
Jewelry grab
An assortment of pricey baubles were swiped from a Third Avenue apartment on June 30.
The tenant told police someone slipped in through a rear open window between Ovington Avenue and 72nd Street at about 10 am and removed the sparklers.
Bag swipe
A no-good snake snagged a purse from a woman who left her valuables unattended at a neighborhood bar on June 27.
The woman told police she left her bag on top of a bar inside the Fifth Avenue watering hole between Bay Ridge Parkway and 76th Street at 4 pm. A few hours later, the purse, as well as $200, her driver’s license and credit cards, were no where to be found, she told police.
