The Cyclones can not be stopped

Cyclones 10
Renegades 3

Wednesday, June 24, at Hudson Valley

For the second straight night, the Cyclones pounded the Renegades with a 12-hit barrage and awesome starting pitching.

Starter James Fuller gave up just three hits in his six innings. The only blemish was a leadoff triple in the sixth and then a passed ball that led to a run.

The Cyclones’ big blows came in the fourth, when six Brooklynites scored.

Nicholas Giarraputo started the action with a single and, after an error, Luis Rivera loaded the bases with a single of his own.

After a wild pitch plated one, Alexander Gregory knocked in two more with a double. Luis Nieves followed with a two-bagger of his own, knocking in two more. A final run scored on Matt Bouchard’s single.

Gregory later scored on a sacrifice fly in the sixth after his leadoff triple.

Back-to-back doubles by Bouchard and Sam Honeck in the seventh added another run, and two more came in in the ninth, thanks to more doubles by Bouchard (who was 4-for-5 on the night, with three doubles) and Rivera (2-for-5). Gregory was also 3-for-5.

The win raised the Cyclones’ record to a division-leading 4–1. The team travels to Aberdeen for a three-game series with the pesky Ironbirds.
