The weekender! Here’s what you should do on Saturday and Sunday

It can’t rain all weekend, can it? Either way, the Weekender will be out there, baby! Here are this weekend’s suggestions:

• On Saturday, go on a walking tour of South Brooklyn’s mob past!

• Go see Pete Townshend’s classic rock opera, “The Who’s Tommy” at the Gallery Players. The Butcher of Flatbush Avenue Extension loved it.

• And while you’ve got the theater bug, go see the Brick Theater’s new comedy, “The Nosemaker’s Apprentice.” It’s about a medieval plastic surgeon. ’Nuff said!

“The Nosemaker's Apprentice” is a hit (and a hunk!).

• Celebrate a 15th birthday for a long snake. Brooklyn Children’s Museum [145 Brooklyn Ave. at St. Mark’s Avenue in Crown Heights, (718) 735-4400].

• Check out the all-male “Merchant of Venice” at BAM.

• In a decorating rut? Head to the annual Brooklyn Designs in DUMBO — and bring our guide to redecorating your pad without making a big dent in your wallet.

• Don’t forget Mother’s Day — with our handy gift guide, and a bakeable treat, from Sweet Melissa.

• See a puppet show about bees on Sunday in Williamsburg. Dooley loved it!

• Head to Puppetworks for the new show, “Aladdin.” It’s on Saturday and Sunday.

As always, these and other great events are in our exclusive family calendar, our great nightlife calendar, and our matchless events calendar.

It's a show about bees!
