Walkout
Three thieves stole two laptop computers out of a President Street workplace after pretending to be interested in renting office space on Dec. 9.
The victim told cops that the three men entered the office, which is between Third and Fourth avenues, at around 1:30 pm and asked about the rent.
As one was being shown around, the other two grabbed the computers and stealthed away.
Copper rush
Another MTA storage facility was robbed of copper cable in the third such crime in as many weeks — but this time, cops nabbed a suspect in the Dec. 9 incident.
The transit agency told cops that witnesses saw the suspect leave the storage area under the elevated F train on 10th Street between Third and Fourth avenues at around 6:30 am with 400 pounds of copper cable in a shopping cart.
Cops put the street value of the precious metal at $1,600.
It is unclear how the cops got their man, but police said that further investigation tied the same man to two prior crimes.
Sixth cents
A thief broke into a Sixth Street apartment on Dec. 8, but got away with just $20.
The victim said that she left the apartment, which is between Seventh and Eighth avenues, at 8 pm and returned just 70 minutes later to find the missing cash.
Shop chop
At least three people had their purses stolen right in front of them last week:
• A Lowe’s hardware customer had her purse stolen at around 5:45 pm on Dec. 12. She lost $100 and various cards in the theft at the Second Avenue superstore.
• A thief stole the purse out of a cart as a woman unloaded groceries in front of her 11th Street home on Dec. 10. The victim lost various cards and bank books in the 11 am theft between Sixth and Seventh avenues.
• A coffee lover had her purse stolen at Ozzie’s on Fifth Avenue on Dec. 6. The victim told cops that someone swiped her bag — which contained a cellphone and an iPod — at around 4 pm inside the java joint at the corner of Garfield Place.
Car trouble
Lots of cars were swiped or broken into last week. Let’s make this quick:

• A man’s Lexus was swiped from Montgomery Place while he was on vacation between Dec. 4 and Dec. 10.
• A thief stole a crossing guard’s car overnight on Dec. 10, getting a vest and a notepad in addition to the 1997 Chevy. The car had been parked on Eighth Street between Fourth and Fifth avenues at around 1:30 pm, but it was gone the next day.
• A Long Island man’s Ford Taurus was swiped out of a parking lot on Ninth Street on Dec. 12. The victim told cops that he parked at Find Furniture along the Gowanus Canal at around 11 am, but the car was gone four hours later.
