Thanks for another safe summer!
Coney Island’s lifeguards were honored for their hard work, dedication and, of course, keen eyes last week during a special Boardwalk celebration.
Gathering near West 12th Street, over a dozen lifeguards received well-deserved kudos from City Councilmember Domenic Recchia and city Parks Department heads.
Organizers said that while unpredictable weather had created dangerous conditions the lifeguards, who they called “the city’s unsung emergency responders,” kept the beaches safe.
