There’s a ritzy new gin joint in town that’s straight out of Sin City, and Ridge night owls are flocking to it in droves.
The just-opened Twenty3 Supper Club on Fifth Avenue’s restaurant row has all the makings of becoming a magnet for patrons looking to perk up their off hours with some Vegas-style glitz, and its gleaming, wood-paneled French doors are just the framework for the wonders that lie within.
Butter-colored banquettes dot the spacious and shimmering interior, and a well-appointed bar does the heady honors for the cocktail crowd, while an eclectic menu delivers for those in the mood for some fierce food — think “small plate” sliders, skewers and empanadas, including “Nono’s Crab Croquettes” and “English-style Fish and Chips,” as well as salads and cold selections, including “Colossal Lump Crab Cocktail” and “East Coast Oysters.” Zesty entrees feature steak, duck, lamb, fish, and chicken, and you’ll want to eat the veggies when they’re maple-glazed brussels sprouts, roasted-garlic mashed potatoes, or one of the other delish “additions.”
The ambience alone tempted one discerning diner.
“It’s a very, very pretty place, very fancy yet comfortable” said Nicole Philippidis of Bay Ridge.
There’s more to sing about.
Patrons can enjoy live and DJ music from Thursday through Saturday — in addition to wine specials on Wednesdays, a happy hour for ladies on Thursdays, and half-price specialty cocktails on Sundays. And there’s plenty of attention to detail because the establishment belongs to the entrepreneurial Di Maio family, which modeled its new venture after the Vegas venues STK at the Cosmopolitan, and Fix at the Bellagio.
“A reason for their success was their ability to combine nightlife and dining,” said Anthony Di Maio, who co-owns and operates Twenty3 with his parents and siblings.
The Di Maios relocated years ago from Bensonhurst to Staten Island, but continued a presence in Brooklyn with their manufacturing company, Cameo Metal Projects. Now, their new enterprise is ready to take the borough by storm.
“I’m so excited for Brooklyn to see what we have, because it’s going to knock their socks off,” said Phina Di Maio.
