OyPhoned
A thief snatched the iPhone right out of a woman’s hand at the corner of Smith and Baltic streets on Aug. 22.
The victim, age 28, told cops that she was chatting on the fancy smartphone at around 3:10 pm when a man approached, and grabbed the phone as she struggled to hold onto it.
He fled towards Hoyt Street.
Phoned out
A teenager grabbed the iPhone out of another teenager’s hand on Columbia Street on Aug. 20.
Believe it or not, a 14-year-old was walking near Huntington Street with the $500 smartphone in his pocket at around 4 pm when the 15-year-old thug approached and punched him so forcefully that he fell to the ground.
That’s when the thief ran off with the phone. But he didn’t get far before plainclothes officer Carlos Anchundia made the collar.
Bad break
A thief swooped in when a woman working inside a Baltic Street business took a bathroom break on Aug. 20, stealing her laptop.
The victim told cops that she slipped away from her desk in the office between Court and Clinton streets at around 10 am. When she returned 10 minutes later, the Apple computer was gone. A witness told her that she had seen a 6-foot, 190-pound man with short brown hair and brown eyes rushing out of the office with the computer under his arm.
It’s not a stretch to consider him the culprit.
Dwight idea
A thug pummeled a Dwight Street man into giving up his cash and iPod on Aug. 19.
The victim told cops that he was near Otsego Street near the Red Hook Houses at around 2:15 pm when a teenage perp approached, punched him to the ground, and took the cash and digital music player.
