It’s not every school that gets a rock star to headline its benefit concert, but this month, PS 29 will be that lucky.
Geen Ween, frontman of the seminal alternative band Ween, will play a benefit for the arts at PS 29 (425 Henry St.) on May 21 with his newest rock group, the Geen Ween Band.
Benefit concerts are becoming a trend in Brooklyn, following a benefit concert at PS 10 earlier this month, as New York City’s public schools face budget cuts for the impending school year.
All proceeds benefit arts programming at PS 29, with tickets costing $15 for adults and $8 for children and PS 29 staff members and available for purchase at http:â„â„www.nycharities.org.
The show starts at 7 p.m.
