Women Caring for Women – Bay Ridge manor to host special health symposium

Female physicians and women in the Brooklyn community will come together for the free “Women Caring for Women” symposium, June 7 at the Bay Ridge Manor, 476 76th Street. The event will begin at 9 a.m. with a continental breakfast.

Brooklyn Women’s Services Health Center and Maimonides Cancer Center are hosting this event to provide the latest information on cancer treatment and screenings.

This event will feature physicians who focus on different areas of cancer research and treatment. The scheduled speakers include Bernadine Donahue, MD, clinical director, Radiation Oncology; Charusheela Andaz, MD, attending physician, Breast Surgery; Yiqing Xu, MD, attending physician, Medical Oncology and Hematology; Petra Rietschel, MD, attending physician, Medical Oncology and Hematology; and Christina Giuliano, MD, attending physician, Breast Imaging.

“Our goal is to inform the community about the many options available in cancer treatment and testing so if they or a loved one is ever faced with cancer they can make educated decisions,” says Dr. Nicoletta Pallotta, director of Brooklyn Women’s Services. “Many people don’t know a state-of-the art cancer facility, such as Maimonides Cancer Center, is available to them right here in Brooklyn.”

Space is limited and registration is required. For registration and information, go to their website, www.brooklynwomensservices.com or call 718-748-1234.
