Wounded soldier asks for relief
You would think that Joseph Cutaia would be tougher than this.
Attorneys for the Luchese Family soldier went to Federal Court this week to ask a judge to grant temporary bail in the case against Cutaia so he could see a doctor about the bullet lodged in his leg.
The wound he received a few weeks before his arrest was never properly treated and is causing him great pain and distress, attorney Seth Ginsberg argued.
Cutaia was shot by unidentified assailants in Staten Island on December 1.
Overall it was a bad month for the career criminal, according to published reports. At the end of December he was arrested for a botched electronic store robbery in this borough on November 11, as well as several other robberies, officials said.
When he was first brought to court, Judge Robert Levy refused to grant bail.
The judge’s mind hadn’t changed as this paper went to press.
