Talk about a fixer-upper!
This sealed-up building on a hot Smith Street corner will someday be more than just a dead zone, thanks to a just-announced plan by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority to sell it to the highest bidder.
The agency has owned the two-story structure at 166 Smith St. for a decade and was using it as a base of operations during repairs on the nearby F and G trains.
But now everything on the 5,000-square-foot site — except the basement, where the MTA will keep some equipment — is up for grabs.
The drab two-story building at the corner of Wyckoff Street isn’t much to look at, but zoning regulations will allow developers to add an additional three or four stories, an MTA spokesman said. Site visits will begin next month.
