Three hoodlums robbed a man at gunpoint gun as he was leaving the Metropolitan Avenue subway station on Sept. 15.
The man told cops that he had exited the train at around 1:30 pm when he was set upon by the perps, who sneaked up from behind and caught their victim in a choke hold. As if that weren’t enough, one aggressor then displayed a black handgun before the entire group took the victim’s taking his cards, cash and cellphone and pushed him to the ground near Skillman Avenue.
Thugs robbed a young woman on her own Havemeyer Street doorstep on Sept. 15.
The attackers approached her from behind at around 11:30 pm, and threw her to the ground. While she was down, they grabbed everything she had: her wallet, cellphone, and even her change purse.
The two men then fled down N. Ninth Street.
A crook pinched a Macbook from a residence on N. Henry Street on Sept. 15 while the victim was out for dinner and drinks.
When she returned to her apartment, which is between Richardson and Herbert streets, at 11:30 pm, she discovered that a thief had entered through an unlocked window, and then politely closed it behind him.
A criminal with an appreciation for the finer things in life stole almost $40,000 worth of clothing and accessories from a Milton Street apartment between Sept. 16 and 19.
Cops say that the thief came in through an unlocked rear window of the unit, which is near Franklin Street, and took off with designer clothes, jewelry, sunglasses, shoes and bags while their owner was out of town.
An afternoon in McCarren Park went sour on Sept. 16 when a thief lifted a knapsack containing cash, cards and a cellphone.
The unsuspecting victim left to go kick around a soccer ball at 5:30 pm, and when he returned just a few minutes later, the backpack was gone.
A thief entered the Comp-U-Cell store on Manhattan Avenue and took several Blackberries while the attendant’s head was turned on Sept. 17.
The perp acted as though he were interested in purchasing a cellphone, a clever distraction as he pocketed the smartphones and then ran off from the store.
A villain with a bad sense of direction broke into a car parked on N. Seventh Street and took a satellite navigation system and two cameras.
The victim left the Hertz car on the street on Sept. 16, but it was gone when he returned to it two days later. All that was left was fragments from the windshield.
Two men stole two laptops from Mikey’s Hook Up on N. Sixth Street on Sept. 18.
The two men entered the seminal computer shop at around 2:20 pm, snipped the tethers that held the computers down, grabbed them and ran out of the store and into a black sedan with New Jersey plates.
