A skittish scoundrel attempted to rob a fast-food restaurant on Broadway on Aug. 3, but fled when the manager refused to comply with his demands.
Witnesses told police that the scofflaw approach the counter of the fast food joint near Thornton Street at 8:53 am, placed an order, then told the cashier “this is a robbery, give me all the money in the register, I have a gun.”
The man gestured at the cashier with what appeared to be a gun under his T-shirt, cops say. The manager appeared and asked the robber, “How can I help you?” To which he replied, “I have a gun, open all the registers,” a request the manager refused, causing the scoundrel to flee the restaurant empty-handed, according to the report.
Bike bandit
A malefactor robbed a man at gunpoint and then stole a youngster’s bike on Manhattan Avenue on Aug. 3.
The victim told police he was near Boerum Street at 11 am when the highway robber approached him from behind and pointed a handgun into his back, demanding his gold chain and then ripping it from his neck without waiting for a reply.
The bandit then turned and ran, knocking a local youngster off his bike and taking off on the two-wheeler, cops say.
Don’t mind me
A bumbling burglar was found trying to steal from a man in his McKibbin Street apartment on Aug. 2.
A friend of the victim discovered the goon going through his friend’s wallet, counting cash at 5 am, and inquired as to the burglar’s intent, saying “What the f— are you doing?”
The unwelcome guest apologized before placing the cash in the wallet and fleeing, cops said.
Brother against brother
Cops say two teenagers and an third accomplice beat and robbed their own brother on Division Avenue on Aug. 7.
The victim told police he was hanging out with one of his siblings near Berry Street at 2:30 pm when his other brother and a third lout approached from behind and jumped him, kicking and punching him.
The three brutes asked him, “What’s the password?” And one man said, “Give me everything you’ve got,” before stealing the victim’s wallet and iPhone, the victim told the police.
