A man driving a Mack dump truck fatally ran over an elderly woman as she was attempting to cross the street in Bushwick on Wednesday, police said.
Eighty-two-year-old Bedford–Stuyvesant resident Ora Walker was crossing Broadway at Gates Avenue at 3:35 pm on Aug. 12 when the driver collided with her, police said.
Cops responded to a 911 call and found the elderly woman unconscious and unresponsive on the road, and emergency workers pronounced her dead shortly after, according to a report.
Authorities believe the truck driver pulled out of the intersection after his light turned green and Walker stepped out onto the street at the same time.
The driver remained at the scene after the crash, police said.
