Big-hearted Park Slope residents reserved a thought for an ailing youngster on their block when they dedicated their annual community party to the swift recovery of Allie Snyder.
Even in her absence, the four-year-old girl, who has leukemia, was the star of the party, which unfolded along 10th Street, between 3rd and 4th streets, drawing families to bond with their neighbors during a day of simple pleasures.
Party planners Christine and Benny Vasquez, who live next door to the Snyders, coordinated a fundraiser and donated the proceeds to defray Allie’s medical costs.
