Easily-aggravated assaulter attacks stranger
An attacker assaulted a stranger on West 31st Street on Dec. 31.
The victim told police he was walking southbound across the a construction site when he accidentally bumped into a stranger. The person then swung an object at the victim, causing a minor laceration the their left shoulder blade.
The victim was taken to Coney Island Hospital emergency room, where they received 7 stitches.
Fake kidnapping
A scammer conned a Coney Island mother for cash on Dec. 28.
According to police, the victim got a call from someone saying her daughter had been kidnapped, and was told to send money to keep her daughter safe. The mother then sent $1,212 to the unknown source through Western Union.
After sending the cash, the mother then called her daughter, who was unharmed and safe.
Swiped trunk
A thief stole property valued at roughly $4,344 from a car parked on Neptune Avenue on Nov. 17.
Police say the the victim left the vehicle around 3 a.m. and when he returned around 7 a.m., he noticed the trunk of his car was open and a Canon camera lens, Canon SL3 camera, clothing and other electronics were taken from his trunk.
There was no damage to the vehicle.
