Bensonhurst—Bath Beach
Aye batter!
A pair of friends turned foes when one of them assaulted the other on Feb. 10.
Police said the friends were fighting over an incident that occurred on West 3rd Street before the 16-year attacker kicked in the victim’s door near Avenue T and West 3rd Street and hit him with a baseball bat at 7:25 p.m.
The attacker ran away as the 15-year-old got treated for his injuries at Coney Island Hospital.
Attacking strangers
A man attacked another Bensonhurst man near New Utrecht Avenue and 81st Street on Feb. 9.
According to police, the two were arguing over a car ride at 2 p.m. when things turned physical, and the 42-year-old attacker hit the 69-year-old victim with a metal stick on the right side of his face.
Paramedics treated the victim at the scene.
Burglary on 71st
Someone broke into a woman’s home on 71st Street and 21st Avenue on Feb. 10.
The victim told police she left her home that morning at 10:20 a.m. but when she returned at 9:37 p.m., she noticed her home had been broken into. The burglar allegedly forced their way in through a side door before taking $3,000 and jewelry.
Facebook threats
A thief almost coerced a man near 73rd Street and Bay Parkway into sending them money on Feb.6.
The victim told police he started chatting with a woman through Facebook at 10 a.m. After a video call, the alleged thief demanded that he send her $1,000. If he didn’t send the money, she said she’d share his private information with his friends and family.
Jewelry scheme
A thieving trio got away with a woman’s jewelry in Bensonhurst on Feb. 7.
The victim told police she was walking along Avenue T when two women and one man took her necklace off her neck at 12 p.m. The trio allegedly distracted her by hugging her and placing another piece of jewelry in her hand. She didn’t notice the necklace was missing until she got home.
The thieves ran away in a black SUV on Avenue T.
